What does security look like to you and your family?

In our area of Haiti security looks like a strong, high wall and a gate. Being able to lay your head down at night and trust that the security measures you have put into place will work is something most of us take for granted. Knowing that you are well protected is not something you can put a price on. We were presented with a problem in April that some of the walls we have on the perimeter of our property were not holding up well. They were starting to fall in some areas, there were holes in others or they were crumbling. Also, the wall was not as high as it should be. Being aware that this was an urgent problem and the fact that we did not want anyone to be hurt should the wall actually start to fall it became imperative that we fund this project. Thanks to a few awesome donors who also saw the need for such repairs the money was quickly raised. Even faster then the money was raised the work was completed. The work was done so quickly because it was something that was hanging over the heads of those who are living there and they wanted to feel safe again. Today this wall stands at our orphanage and is sturdy and secure. Dovick could not be happier as he stands in front of the new wall, completely confident in its ability to be a protection. We all want to thank you on behalf of the children and everyone living at CSEDI for the gifts you have given. Although this project is complete we always have more work to do, monthly needs to meet, special projects and our biggest project the purchase of new land.
